Federal Government Declares June 12 Public Holiday

THE Federal Government has declared Friday, June 12, as public vacation to mark this year’s Democracy Day celebration.

Interior Minister Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, who introduced this on Monday in Abuja on behalf of the Federal Government, congratulated all Nigerians for the entrenchment of democratic rule within the nation.

The minister hailed the heroes of democracy for his or her dogged dedication and sacrifice which ultimately birthed authorities of the folks by the folks, for the folks in Nigeria.

An announcement by the Permanent Secretary within the ministry, Georgina Ehuriah, quoted Aregbesola as urging Nigerians to proceed to cherish the selfless efforts made to achieve democracy.

He urged Nigerians to collaborate with President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration to understand democratic beliefs which the nation’s patriots fought for, even on the danger of their lives.
