PAYMENT of hazard and inducement allowance to Nigerian well being workers on the frontline of the battle in opposition to the Coronavirus pandemic will start this week, the Federal Government has stated.
It stated the well being workers will obtain two months’ pay for April and May earlier than the shut of labor on Thursday.
Ngige was accompanied on the assembly by the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo (SAN); the Accountant General of the Federation, Idris Ahmed and the Minister of State for Health, Dr. Olorunnimbe Mamora.
The well being workers have been represented by the management of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) and the Joint Health Sector Unions (JOHESU).
The authorities, in April, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with well being skilled associations and unions for well being workers on the frontline of the battle in opposition to the pandemic to get particular incentives, together with hazard allowance, insurance coverage and tax rebates.
